Mark Rylance in The Blizzard
The video installation was commissioned for the ‘5th Papier Biennale’ at the Leopold Hoesch Museum, Duren, Germany (1994.) The video was projected onto thousands of large paper pixels hung from the museum’s ceiling creating a three dimensional video. Petry wrote and directed the work which is a comic look at then modern technology (fax machines!) verses more antiquated forms of communication. Rylance must cope with dogs, power outages and a burning book.
