Michael grew up in Forest Lake, Minnesota and was the youngest of three brothers and raised for most of his childhood by his mom, Joann. His father passed away when he was nine years old leaving his mom to raise three boys on her own. He learned very quickly in life that nothing was guaranteed and that you have to live every second to the fullest. With two older brothers, he also learned he would have to compete for whatever he wanted. Later in life, these hard-learned lessons would serve him well.

After high school, Michael decided to pursue chemical engineering in college at the University of Minnesota. He quickly realized that a life in a laboratory just wasn't for him. He totally changed directions on his schooling and earned a General Management degree from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Business.

After he graduated in 1998, he was hired as a loan officer/assistant manager at a local Bank. In the approximately two years that followed, he consistently was the number one loan officer in the state of Minnesota for the bank.

Michael decided to broaden his horizons with a position as a loan officer with a national retail mortgage lender. After one year, at the tender age of 25, he was promoted to be the manager of a local branch. Over the next two years, the office became consistently one of the top performing branches in the entire country. Michael was then awarded an opportunity to become an area manager with the company. He ran six branches overall in Minnesota and Chicago. Over the next two years, he once again was routinely one of the top area managers in the company. During his tenure as an area manager, Michael and his wife Brandi had their first child, Peyton. After nine months of working grueling hours and frequent travel and trying to balance his life as a new daddy and husband, he decided to leave the company to spend more time with his wife and his "little buddy".

Michael had a couple of stops at different mortgage companies along the way but decided in 2006 that now was the time to start up a mortgage company with his business partner, Michael Kopiecki. The "Michael's" have worked together and known each other for over 7 years and bring roughly 26 years of mortgage experience to the plate. They also share the same vision of making M & M Mortgage the best mortgage company in the business; for customers and employees alike… Owning a business can be challenging at times, but at long last, Michael has time to be able to balance his life at home with his life at work. Since that time Mike and Brandi have brought a beautiful baby girl into the world named Isabella; who is already turning into a daddy's girl. With a wife and two children supporting him, Mike is still able to balance his home life with his work; along with continues training and learning his trade. It is very rewarding for him to be able to pursue his passion that took him all the way back to where he began right out of college; a passion for personally serving his customers…
